Foss all collection

If you like Fosses, then I've arranged them all in one place, in order of appearance (will add as we go on)

Urriðafoss (about 10km E of Selfoss, which, despite its name, doesn't have a Foss...)

Hjálparfoss

Háifoss - well, the top of. There's a bigger picture of Haifoss on the "Iceland Rocks" blog page

 Granni (meaning neighbour, of Háifoss)

 Seljalandfoss

Seljalandfoss again

Skógafoss

Another foss about 50m higher up the Skóga river

higher up the Skóga river still...

There's a total of 23, including Skodafoss up this valley. Another trip, maybe

The following section is fosses in Skaftafell National park, on the Kristinartindar route (see Take a Hike blog page)

Hundafoss

Annuvafoss

Svartifoss from about 500m

Yet another family group (what is he hiding under that jumper?)

Svartifoss close-up. Just look at that columnar basalt...

Yetannuvafoss

End of "Skaftafell National park, on the Kristinartindar route" fosses

This one on the Oxi pass on our long trip to Eglisstadir. If we hadn't spent 8 hours walking this day, there would have been a few more fosses photographed, but we didn't have time to stop. This was the exception because of its location on a mountain road reaching 500m altitude. The wind is being very lazy at this point - its going straight through rather than around me.

This little cache of fosses can be found on descending into Seyðisfjörður from Egilsstaðir

This one on the road to Myvatn

And now for a really big one ... the mighty Dettifoss

Between Myvatn & Husavik, the well-know Godafoss:

& its smaller downstream companion Geitafoss - with rainbow

from the left bank

Gullfoss

Hraunfoss - a foss-of-sorts as its really a river emerging from underneath a lava field via many springs.
