Land of ice & puffins

Taken on 4th August travelling from Skogar to Skaftafell

Sólheimajökull:

Puffins at Dyrhólaey - very entertaining watching them coming in to land on the cliff edge in the strong wind. "Cute" is just insufficient.

Former location of the Mulakvisl bridge from its temporary replacement: showing where the main road was until 9th July this year, when it was removed by a Jökulhlaup (glacial flood) following a small eruption of Katla under the Mýrdalsjökull glacier.

Columnar basalt at Dverghamrar
