Thingvellir
17th August
Starting at Geysir we drove to Thingvellir, and then on to just North of Bifrost, just South of the Snaefellnes peninsula. Site of the Icelandic parliament, the Althing, since Viking times, its situated right on the tectonic plate boundary. Tonight's stop in a lovely valley - great views of volcanic cones, lava flows & beautiful sunlight.

On the fissure
For my evening walk up the nearby hill, I had a local guide...

Your local guide, K9 (canine), you could have done with him on Mount Bjamfell.
