Way to Myvatn

Rather annoyingly the blogsite did an update as I was editing/adding on night of 10th Aug. It lost some entries I was making on this page, so am having to do again. Hmmph.

My-vatn or "Midge lake". We were pleased to read in the guidebook that these midges were vegetarian, unlike their ravenous Scottish, carnivorous, namesakes.

 We visited the thermal area before checking in for the night. The strong sulphurous smell of the quietly bubbling pools or the roaring fumaroles (Catali will like the noisy videos) was reprised in the hotel showers next morning.

When we got to Myvatn - there certainly were plenty of flying things which feed the ducks, or  feed the fish that feed the ducks.
